About The Role


DP World Australia has a exciting opportunity for a experienced and enthusiastic professional to join our IT team. Reporting to the Lead Business Applications Analyst and Support, as a Business Intelligence & Data Analyst, your main objective will be to help the organisation make better business decisions by analysing and interpreting data. You will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and presenting data in a way that is easily understood by stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and meets the expectations of the business (value and cost) and satisfies functional, technical and compliance requirements, whilst maintaining a strong relationship with the business


Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to identify business problems and opportunities and to develop strategies to address them and require excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also be responsible for identifying trends and patterns in data and making recommendations for improvement based on your findings.


As a Business Intelligence & Data Analyst, you will use a variety of tools and techniques to analyse data, including data visualisation and statistical analysis. You will also be responsible for monitoring data quality, ensuring data accuracy and completeness, and maintaining data security and privacy.


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure maximum availability of applications at all sites
  • Provide remote and onsite support where required
  • Provide after hours response (24x7) to users and clients from all sites for emergency/urgent issues
  • Following applications to be supported and not restricted to
  • Ensure prioritisation criteria are applied so that the most urgent changes get implemented first
  • Liaise with relevant business operations
  • Manage vendors and contractual relationships
  • Liaise with DP World Australia IT Teams where required
  • Systems performance management – diagnosis of server issues impacting application performance (Windows and Linux).
  • management, scripting, service management etc.
  • Liaise with Infrastructure team for operating system issues
  • Proactive application health monitoring.
  • Ensure adherence to standard IT process, including change, incident and problem management.
  • Ensure adherence to DP World Australia corporate standards and policies
  • Evaluate document and update where necessary for support procedures.
  • Responsible for progressive Software / Application Upgrade or releases across multiple sites and/or environments
  • Monitoring and managing the configuration of the production, test and DR environments and standardising where possible.
  • Managing the scope content of each software releases in consultation with business.
  • Coordinate acceptance testing and transition
  • Conform to Incident, Problem and Change Management processes and contribute to improving processes


Experience, Skills & Qualifications


To be successful in the role you will have following skills & experience:


  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant IT disciplines
  • 5+ years of IT industry experience
  • ITIL Foundation certification - Desirable
  • At least 2 years' experience in use of reporting & Business Intelligence tools, preferably Qlik Sense/QlikView. Experience with SAS, MS PowerBI, Tableau, Micro-Strategy, Tibco, COGNOS is also desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in utilising of quantitative programming languages like SAS, SQL, R, Python, Julia, Chapel, C/C++/C#
  • Demonstrated experience in the ability to analyse large datasets.
  • Advanced analytical skills to enable a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Data lake experience preferred but not essential.
  • Evaluating and understanding existing application architecture with Business process
  • Working in BAU environment as well on Projects – work balance with BAU (60%) – Projects (40%)
  • Strong working knowledge of security roles, issues and risks in a medium level enterprise
  • Extensive and broad IT experience, including data architecture, data modelling, database design, data warehouse development and business intelligence
  • IT Industry-recognized certifications in some of the technical competencies that this role oversees
