About the Role

Swiss Re is looking for a data scientist with 2-3 years of experience in working with large datasets and on machine learning/AI model development for innovative products. Python is required but any other language used in model development is welcomed. Experience in time series analysis and in telematics project is a plus. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data science model deployment, math, statistics, physics or any other computationally driven fields and working experience in computer science/engineering.

About the Team

We are seeking a motivated candidate with passion for technology to be a part of Analytics team in Milan that develops innovative solutions in telematics, motor and beyond. The team is top notch and lies in the Product and Technology department in the Property and Casualty Reinsurance business. Activity varies from digital signal processing analysis or more advanced AI modelling on time series to model development on tabular data coming from clients.

About You

Essentials:

PhD in scientific fields and 2 or more year of experience
BS/MS in scientific/engineering fields and 5 or more years of experience
2 or more years of relevant experience in development of machine learning and AI models
Experience in data related projects and data platform implementation
Statistical modeling (like R/Matlab/Mathematica)
Hands-on experience in implementation, performance tuning and machine learning model deployment
Experience with scripting languages (Python and R)
Knowledge of big data tools and framework like Hadoop, Spark etc…
Strong programming skills (Python)
Experience with Azure Services and Azure Machine Learning Service
Proficiency in English is mandatory.
Good organizational skills and time management
PhD is a plus
Knowledge of Android and iOS app development is a plus.
