LEAD DATA ANALYST (TABLEAU)

About the role

The Lead Data Analyst will lead the development and application of data modelling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions for IDP Connect and IDP Connect’s clients. The Lead Data Analyst will support on key company-wide research projects that align with our vision to empower students to access Higher Education through the world’s most trusted global platform and connected community.

You’ll oversee an analyst and work alongside a team of analysts to ensure successful development and delivery of the IDP Connect IQ data analytics product line including IQ On Demand and Consultancy, provide valued insights and support new business opportunities.

You’ll be based in our UK head office in London, UK and reporting to our Head of Intelligence & Analytics.

Key Deliverables

• Understand business needs and objectives
• Lead the development and application of data modelling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions for IDP Connect and its clients
• Lead the build, development and maintenance of data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions
• Select, configure and implement analytics solutions
• Identify alternative data sources and capabilities that would enhance IDP Connect’s analytical services
• Oversee all analytics operations to correct discrepancies and ensure quality
• Build systems to transform raw data into actionable business insights
• Develop strategies for effective data analysis and reporting
• Extract reports from multiple sources
• Oversee the technical development of an analyst
• Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective project management and collaboration with stakeholders

About you

Essential Requirements

• Advanced Tableau Desktop (technical ability as well as excellent design/dashboarding theory) with experience of Tableau Server administration. Tableau Certified Associate certification, Tableau Public profile and active involvement highly desirable
• Depth of experience as a data analyst with excellent data manipulation, analysis, visualisation and reporting skills. Passion for working with data to drive insights. High attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
• Strong experience of manipulating large datasets, and exploring using advanced data extraction techniques
• Advanced Excel and or similar e.g. Googlesheets
• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Oracle SQL Developer
• Database experience SQL Server, AWS, Oracle Business Intelligence
• Educated to degree level - Science, Mathematics, Economics or Business Intelligence related equivalent discipline
• Strong interpersonal and team working skills
• Educated to degree level - Science, Mathematics, Economics or Business Intelligence related equivalent discipline

Desirable Requirements

• Proficiency in Python or R is a plus
• Strong experience of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
• Experience of Alteryx
• Education sector experience
