Job Description:

On behalf of our healthcare client located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, we're looking for a Data Engineer to leverage data to improve clinical outcomes through data analytics. This is a 100% remote contract!


Responsibilities:

• Building large ad-hoc and scheduled data extractions using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

• Designing and implementing the physical database structure and constructs and implementing operational data stores and data marts based on the design of the logical data model and metadata documentation.

• Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements, including automation of manual processes, demonstrating understanding of business workflows, optimizing data delivery, and re-designs for greater scalability.

• Using programming and scripting languages (e.g. C#, Python, Java, T-SQL) in support of data extraction and analysis.

• Managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Eliciting and documenting business requirements and understanding of business workflows.

Qualifications:

• 5 years’ experience building large ad-hoc and scheduled data extractions using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

• 5 years’ experience designing and implementing the physical database structure and constructs and implementing operational data stores and data marts based on the design of the logical data model and metadata documentation.

• 5 years’ experience in identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements, including automation of manual processes, demonstrating understanding of business workflows, optimizing data delivery, and re-designs for greater scalability.

• 3 years’ experience using programming and scripting languages (e.g. C#, Python, Java, T-SQL) in support of data extraction and analysis.

• 3 years’ experience in managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• 3 years’ experience in eliciting and documenting business requirements and understanding of business workflows.
