Data Science Intern
Coverent is seeking two summer Interns who are currently pursuing a degree related to Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or Advanced Data Analytics. This opportunity supports the United States Intelligence Community and would involve applying for a high-level Security Clearance, which can take 1-2 years to obtain. These clearances are pretty special – difficult to get, provide ability to do amazingly cool work in spaces that very few people get to see.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate Data Science Courses - help Coverent develop data science training curriculum by taking several online data science courses and assessing/evaluating their content.
- Develop a working prototype for a web-based tool for capturing, visualizing, and reporting on the key components of a set of science projects.
- Support Coverent’s Data Scientists by completing unclassified assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to Obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph (US Citizenship Required)
- Ability to program in a data-science-relevant language such as Python or R
- Pursuing a Degree related to Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, and Advanced Analytics. Completion of several college-level courses in these areas.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- For work on the prototype tool: full stack developer able to build web-based applications, and familiarity with at least one modern javascript-based UI framework.
- Comfortable working remotely with occasional visits to our office in McLean, VA
