Are you ready to contribute to policing and crime prevention in Ireland? An Garda Síochána is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Crime and Data Analyst at the Executive Officer level.


About the Role

As a Crime and Data Analyst, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both strategic and operational policing efforts. You will provide in-depth analysis and actionable insights from multiple data sources to help decision-makers focus on key priorities, identify crime trends, and predict future patterns. Your analysis will aid in crime prevention efforts and enhance data-driven decision-making across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and combine data from various sources to support policing operations.
  • Identify and report on crime patterns and trends, providing valuable insights to support investigations and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Garda colleagues to raise awareness of data’s potential in crime prevention and predictive policing.
  • Prepare and present information in a clear and understandable format for stakeholders.
  • Support the development of a data-driven culture within An Garda Síochána by contributing to the automation of reports and sharing analytical techniques.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Familiarity with data science and analytical tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to analyse data from internal systems like PULSE and external sources.
  • Experience presenting data in a clear, actionable way.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively share findings with key stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach in supporting the investigative process and contributing to overall crime prevention.
