What are we after?

We are looking for a Lead/ Senior Data Engineer within our Data + AI team.
This role is a critical part of our partnership with Microsoft and helping to educate our clients about the benefits of using Fabric. We are looking for someone with deep Microsoft Knowledge who is interested in Fabric.

Our ideal Data Lead/ Senior Data Engineer is an impassioned problem solver who will lead the design and development of a scalable data architecture team. They must be comfortable working as part of a team and tackling projects that can sometimes be ambiguous or subject to constant change.

What are the Responsibilities?

  • Lead the development of Microsoft Fabric knowledge within the broader Data + AI team.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and prepare proposals to address these needs using Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience in BI, Data Analytics and Data Modelling
  • Developing data warehouse, data modelling, data lake and data pipeline solutions.
  • Understanding best practices around business intelligence, machine learning and data science and how to apply them within a Microsoft Ecosystem
  • Prior experience with key components of Microsoft including Azure Data Factory and Power BI (knowledge and experience with Azure Databricks is a bonus)
  • Experience designing data solutions with Microsoft Azure to address a broad range of use cases (Business Intelligence, Data Science, AI/Machine Learning) to address business problems
  • Have a strong working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile Software development.

What are the essential skills and qualifications?

  • Experience engaging with stakeholders, to identify, guide and advise customers on key elements of their data strategy, data governance and platform.
  • 5+ years of experience delivering Microsoft Azure, Business Intelligence, Data Science or AI/Machine Learning solutions
  • Knowledge or experience using Microsoft Fabric (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of and experience building data models to support high-performing dashboards.
  • Ability to surface and understand business requirements from previous reports, or from business stakeholders to deliver for the warehouse
  • Experience and exposure to ETL concepts and frameworks, working with data engineers in an agile delivery model
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Purview and Synapse (and Azure Databricks) (preferred)
