About the Team

At Typeform, the Data team is making data our #1 asset. And we know how important that is— our product helps people collect information in the best way possible, by making it conversational.

That's why we need you. We're looking for a Data Scientist Technical Lead to work together with the insights teams.

The Marketing DS chapter teams are focused on unlocking customer acquisition. We are responsible for Data Analysis, and development of optimization models to enable data-driven decisions and automated optimizations in marketing.

We are responsible for identifying and monitoring initiatives that drive customer value, understanding the needs and sentiments of our current customers for Customer Success and Product team to improve our value proposition.

About the Role

The Data Science Tech Lead has a pivotal role in the Data department by defining, propagating and updating the quality standards of the work of Data Scientists across the DS chapters.

Here's what you'll do:
Mentor Data Scientists on best practices of coding, collaboration and communication

Be the point of contact between Data Scientists and Data Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers

Guide Data Scientists in translating business questions into technically sound solution that foster reusability, reproducibility and minimize technical dept

Contribute to critical, company-wide, projects and coordinate technical work

Define cross-team rituals and dynamics about coding reviews

Promote and coordinate the development of in-house built tools

Keep the team up to date with emerging tools and methodologies

About you

Here's what we're after:
You've got +7 years of directly relevant, tech industry work experience as a statistician / data scientist.

You have deep expertise of statistical modeling / applied machine learning with a focus on churn prediction, customer behavioural. clustering, LTV. Experience with A/B and multivariate analysis, test design and implementation.

Strong mentorship skills with demonstrated experience collaborating with team members and learning new techniques.

You are a driven person capable of lead and propose complex projects.

You're pragmatic. You value simple and effective solutions over complicated brain-melters.

You can take a complex concept and make it sound simple, using clear visual references to help.

You like taking on big challenges—given the appropriate time and resources.

You're hungry to learn and embrace healthy debate.

You're empathic, enthusiastic, and collaborative.

You've are proficient building queries with SQL.

You have experience with AWS or other cloud systems.

You are an expert in Python, and have some experience in implementation (Scala/Java).

You're fluent in English and eager to work in a multicultural, international environment.

It'd be amazing if you also have:
Having working knowledge of Big Data technologies (mostly Spark and Redshift ) is a plus.

You are versed in engineering and coding best practices: object oriented. programming, software design patterns, version controlling (GIT)
