Tasks

As a data scientist in the IT department, you will actively develop Swiss data-oriented future, bring the data at the center and expand the data culture across all departments.

• Proactively engage with business stakeholders across the Lufthansa Group and create new data related products or support already ongoing projects.
• Develop dashboards with the business stakeholders, act as SPOC for dashboarding at Swiss IT
• Develop and use data science solutions from ideation to production and use them to derive insights or automate business processes.
• Prepare and transform data, recommend improvements to the data landscape with a cloud first mindset.
• Be an active player in the data awareness campaign and data innovation within the company.
• Actively contribute to data scientists community across the company

Requirements

You have a previous experience in data visualization, data processing with SQL/spark and/orwith Python and wish to develop your knowledge in cloud solutions.

• University degree (Master, PhD as asset) with a quantitative focus in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or similar
• Previous relevant working experience (1-3 years) in the area of data science
• Advanced skills in BI Tools for interactive data visualization (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
• Experience in cloud computing ( Azure or Google)
• Skills in Python SQL, R and/or big data processing tools like Spark or Hive
• Databricks knowledge is real advantage
• Data engineering experience is a plus.
• Knowledge and practical experience with agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and project management
• An ability to familiarize yourself swiftly and independently with new topic areas
• Written and spoken fluency in English and preferably also in German
