Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Data Scientist reporting to the Manager of Data Science & Analytics working out of the Vancouver, British Columbia office. As a Boeing Data Scientist, you will apply data science solutions to the unique challenges of aviation and aerospace. You will work closely with customers, developing understanding of their problems, priorities and business needs, and you will embed digital intelligence into software products used throughout the maintenance, supply, engineering, and flight operations domains.
In particular, the Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and sustaining Boeing’s machine-learning, statistics and other analytics components deployed in cloud applications. These applications support the Boeing Digital Solutions & Analytics portfolio of aerospace operations and maintenance digital products.

Participates in one or more cross-functional data science development teams supporting engineering, maintenance or flight operations applications
Develops both ad hoc and production-level analytics tools using techniques such as:
machine learning, e.g.
clustering, unsupervised machine learning
logistic regressions, classifiers
language modeling, natural language processing & text analytics
Conducts evaluation, validation and continuous performance monitoring of supported applications, models and analyses
Communicates with customers to understand requirements and communicate deliverables/results
Helps setup of data and modeling pipelines
Champions culture of quality, learning, trust, and collaborative energy

2+ years' experience in Data Science
Must be proficient in Python (special emphasis on Pandas, sklearn, tensorflow) and SQL
Must have experience in formal collaborative development environment and version control (e.g., Gitlab)
Must have Post-Secondary Education
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Prefer 3+ years’ experience in Data Science
Candidate must consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment. Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.
Domain knowledge in the aviation & aerospace industry is an asset
Cloud technologies (e.g, Azure, Google Cloud, AWS)
Programming (e.g., Python, R, java)
Project management knowledge (e.g. PMBOK, Agile, Kanban) is an asset
Experience in production-quality data and modeling pipeline development
Experience in production-quality analytics services deployment
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).
