The newly formed WebXT organization encompasses Bing, Edge Browser and Microsoft Content services used by nearly a billion users across the Globe. You will have access to one of the largest data sets in the world to distill insights to drive new opportunities, understand success/failure impact of features and shape business strategies to grow users and engagements through distinguishing growth features like MS Rewards, Edge browser optimization, search driven from content.
You will work very closely with data mining/platform, feature engineering, marketing, and finance/business teams to complete the positive, data-driven feedback loop to 1) drive ideation with feature teams for opportunities 2) direct and course correct engineering plans based on impact analysis and 3) inform business visions with data.
o Hands on analysis on large volumes of telemetry data using various algorithms and tools including your own
o Drive data driven ideation for Rewards and Bing/Content/Edge growth teams to acquire new users and increase daily habits for existing ones
o Drive impact analysis for features critical to agile course correction and business investments
o Define and track key org level success metrics for impact and drive reliable process to track contribution from individual feature initiatives across the product lifecycle against set goals
o Evangelize your data analysis techniques, visualizations across teams
o 5+ years of industry experience in driving business growth through applied data science/analysis
o Technical expertise in working with big data, modern data analysis techniques and tools with solid understanding of math/statistics fundamentals (e.g. A/B testing)
o Strong communication skills to articulate insights and vision, solid story telling with data and influencing and building partnerships with different perspectives
o Bachelors/Master’s/PhD degree in computer science or related engineering field
o Passion for data and experience in direct application in data driven business
o Familiarity with search engines, online services and marketing campaigns
o Knowledge on machine learning for data mining, clustering and predictive analysis is a plus
o A willingness to learn, share, and improve
o Proficiencies with common tools like Excel, PowerBI
o Self-motivated, agile and driven to think out-of-the-box
