Job Description


About you

You would be joining team of data scientists in our Krakow office but also collaborating with colleagues from United States and the United Kingdom. You may be recent graduate or you have 1-2 years of relevant experience.

In this role your principal responsibilities will be:

  • Build statistical models to help bank clients classify potential customers and/or quantify the risk of fraud and malicious customer intent
  • Work with other data scientists in the design and execution of data mining tools
  • Code and test programs to extract data, analyze data and build functional data models
  • Clear document model specification and performance metrics by leveraging pre-defined, specific documentation templates

Qualifications


Ideally you will have the following experience/skills:

  • Capability to select the optimal statistical model/machine learning methodology to solve practical business problems, as well as to perform dependent variable analysis and vintage analysis related to model development
  • Understanding of advanced statistical concepts (such as time series models, gradient boosting, regularization, etc.)
  • Ability to investigate and leverage new popular machine learning algorithms and corresponding inference, diagnostic and implementation related to the method
  • Knowledge of Python/SQL for data science applications to perform complicated data manipulation and analysis

Preferred:

  • Postgraduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics or physics
  • 1-2 years practical experience working as a data scientist applying machine learning to real-world problems
