Participate in corporate or project initiatives as a data expert; gather and analyze data to address data anomalies, errors, and inconsistencies, ensuring standards are met within data management processes, data governance and tools.
Document current state and future state data integration and data elements within scope.
Create data asset policies, standards, and procedures for data management, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
Provide support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with production data models and services.
Work closely with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
Support CIBC Mellon service providers processes by understanding integration, monitoring for data accuracy, and ensuring timely flow of interdependent information, to support seamless delivery of vendor services to CIBC Mellon.
Support the business through monitoring, assessing, and improve the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data. Support both the business and clients to address and resolve data-related issues as they arise.
Ensure complete, efficient, and effective data delivery including data acquisition, ingestion, transformation, and dissemination.
Generate reports that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for company leadership and departments.
Where applicable, interact with data to maintain, enrich, and correct within defined protocols and controls.
Collaborate with IT teams, Affiliates, and third-party vendors to maintain the data related aspects of business solutions.
Having both business and technical expertise, liaise between IT and business users to capture and document system requirements, define scope and objectives, and assist in the creation of system specifications that drive system development and implementation for data systems.
Support relationship with 3rd party service providers; serving as the technical point of contact for business and service providers to bridge the understanding between the two parties on data, flow of information and application.
Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards.
Assist, as needed, in the preparation of project plans, securing appropriate input and cooperation of both internal and external parties, monitor progress against project deliverables and update project plans to reflect changes.
Report on the performance and effectiveness of data management initiatives.
Qualifications
Specific Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
5-7 years experience in data analytics, documentation, and reporting packages.
Ability to analyze large datasets.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel and PowerBI)
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and data security principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., finance)
