Data Scientist (m/f/d)


The Computational Life Science Indication Monheim Group is looking for a passionate and creative Data Scientist (m/f/d) to join our team in Monheim. We are a young and diverse team of data scientists generating direct impact in the discovery and optimization process of novel, safe and sustainable active ingredients with high commercial potential.


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support the data science enabled/augmented early research process: Develop algorithms, methods and search strategies to screen large chemical spaces for multi-dimensional profiles
  • Drive the mechanistic modelling and simulation part for Chemical research projects especially for questions in the context of sparse and heterogeneous data
  • Support model development for compound absorption - distribution - metabolism - elimination properties in plants and insects
  • Advance the digital maturity in the Small Molecules and Pest Control organization
  • Be a member of a highly interdisciplinary team and create an impact on pipeline and strategic projects to advance safe and sustainable products for agriculture

WHO YOU ARE


  • Master’s degree with first applied experience OR PhD in at least one area such as Applied Mathematics, Physics, Biophysics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Pharmacometric Modelling
  • Strong proficiency in computational skills and level of experience building predictive models using for example R and/or Python; experience with SimCyp, PKSim is a plus
  • Experience working with biological data; willingness to develop an understanding in Life Science research, Chemistry and Statstics and curiosity to understand experimental set-ups and responsibilities
  • Experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and/or Data Driven Modelling is a plus
  • First experience with AWS is a plus and multi project management skills
  • Strong communication competencies including presentations to all levels of the organization and delivery of complex quantitative analyses in a clear, concise, and actionable way
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
