The Role

If you’re the kind of person who loves to develop novel data-science-driven solutions which have a game-changing impact on our business and products that touch millions of people every day, this is the role for you. At Dojo, the data team is moving into an exciting new phase and you will have the opportunity to play an important role in its development, working at a senior level in the team and shaping how we deliver projects. We want you to bring your expertise with technology and experience of solving commercial problems into an environment where you’ll be working alongside other experts in both domains to scale our processes and make smarter decisions.

What you will do…


  • As a Team Leader, you will translate data science vision and strategy into execution.
  • You will build a strong team within your area, by coaching and developing Individual Contributors.
  • You will be able to prioritize work depending on business needs and keep stakeholders aligned at all times
  • You will take ownership of and understand the goals and objectives of supporting business partners, translating them into DS requirements/framework.


  • You will drive implementation and deployment of complex projects within their scope
  • You will work closely with team members to ensure data quality, provide technical and tactical support, remove roadblocks and provide active support
  • You will drive actions from stakeholders leveraging strong data visualization and storytelling skills


  • You will be the advocate of data science with your main stakeholder(s)
  • You will work closely with other internal entities to ensure your team is always working towards what’s most important for our customers whilst achieving high (measurable) business impact
  • You will ensure clear and effective communication to stakeholders: proactively keeping all stakeholders informed of what’s happening, upcoming changes, projects, issues, etc.

What you will bring…


  • Experience solving problems using data mining techniques and with statistical rigour
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members on the best tools and techniques to tackle their challenges, or guide them to experts in the area.
  • Ability to build a strong team within your area, designing and iterating team processes, and maintaining a healthy, collaborative and open culture.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong technical skills regarding data analysis, statistics, machine learning and programming. Strong working knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, SQL, Python and/or R.
  • Strong knowledge of Statistical Methods (e.g. Testing, GLM, Inference), Statistical/Machine Learning (e.g. Dimension Reduction, Clustering, Neural networks, Regularisation, Bagged/Boosted methods), Time Series, Natural Language Processing etc
  • Strong knowledge of data management (engineering, data pipelines, workflows)
  • Strong knowledge of the possibilities and limitations of different types of data analysis and/or data science modelling


  • Master degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or similar)
  • Experience in GCP or AWS
  • Experience in a relevant domain or industry
