Shape and contribute to innovative solutions in the field of respiratory care, such as digital solutions for COPD and asthma management, to improve health outcomes and care for patients with respiratory diseases. You will work in a team to create, test and validate these solutions on their effectiveness and for evidence generation, engaging and collaborating with clinical partners and healthcare institutes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic scientist that can innovate combining competences in biomedical engineering, data science, clinical research, ideally in the area of respiratory care, to join our Respiratory Team in the Remote Patient Management and Chronic Care Department and. You are responsible for
Working with a multi-disciplinary team to create meaningful and innovative solutions in the area of respiratory and chronic care
Applying, research, advancing the state-of-the art in data science techniques and adapt them for use in products, services, software and solutions in the domain of respiratory care, both in hospital and out of hospital (e.g. mechanical ventilation, connected devices, remote patient monitoring);
Interact with clinicians to understand patients and care providers’ needs to translate in meaningful solutions than can be developed and tested
Help testing and validating our solutions in clinical and users studies, from study design to data analysis and reporting
Bringing in new knowledge, scouting and validating outside-in opportunities, creating intellectual property, contributing to scientific publications
You are a part of

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Ph.D., excellent master degree or post-master degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field
Strong expertise in data science applied to the medical field, preferably respiratory care
Developing, testing, and using software applications in Python or Matlab or R
Background in setting up, running and evaluating clinical trials in collaboration with clinical partners is a plus
Knowledge of chronic diseases such as COPD, OSA, heart failure, diabetes is a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong personal relationships at all levels, both internal and external to Philips Research;
Self-manager, coordination and facilitation skills of own research.
Team worker in multidisciplinary settings.
