Cigna, a leading Health Services company, is looking for exceptional Cloud Data Engineers in our Data & Analytics organization

The candidate will play a technical leadership role within the Enterprise Data Engineering group and is responsible for driving the adoption of software engineering best practices and innovative product introduction. The individual must have superb analytical and technical skills coupled with the ability to mentor effectively.

The applicant will be working in a team that demands technical excellence and whose members are expected to hold each other accountable in the overall success of the output. The focus for this team is the delivery of an Enterprise Data Platform to drive Cigna’s Enterprise Data Strategy.

The applicant will be working with internal and external stakeholders and customers for building solutions as part of Enterprise Data Engineering and will need to demonstrate technical acumen and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:
The Cloud Data Engineer will be responsible to deliver business needs end to end from requirements to deployment into production, with well architected data solution and products.
Through a hands-on engineering approach, this individual will develop patterns, frameworks and applications which enable the building of a data pipeline ecosystem.
The applicant will be responsible for peer code reviews,
The applicant will be responsible to follow software engineering best practices with an automation first approach and continuous improvement mindset.
The applicant will also drive reuse, engage in peer code reviews and foster innovation
The applicant will ensure adherence to enterprise architecture direction and architectural standards and guidelines.
The applicant should be able to collaborate in a high-performing team environment, and an ability to influence and be influenced by others

At least 10 plus years of experience in software and data engineering, API’s and integration technologies
Experience with one or more of the following programming scripting languages – Python, Scala, JVM-based languages, or Javascript, and ability to pick up new languages.
4+ years of cloud solution engineering and architecture experience (AWS or other)
AWS Solution Architect Certification / AWS Developer Certification /
AWS SysOps Certification a plus.
Experience in performance tuning and resiliency in Cloud solutions.
Experience in stream data, such as Kafka
Experience in Big Data technologies – AWS EMR, Databricks, Apache Spark.
Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools.
Experience with building Data Pipelines that utilize Spark Streaming, Kafka or other streaming tools.
Deep understanding of all things “database” - schema design, optimization, scalability, etc
Strong expertise with GIT.
Experience creating REST API’s.
Experience in building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CloudFormation, Terraform etc.)
Experience in Big Data technologies – Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Mapreduce.
Proficient in self-testing of applications, unit testing and use of mock frameworks, test-driven development (TDD)
Experience in building a software ‘product’ which will be transitioned to others for support and further evolution (including documentation, complete tooling/instrumentation, etc.)
Experience with the SCRUM methodology for agile software development.
