Summary of Position

The Data Scientist position will initially work on complex planning to create an automated schedule that will maximize production time and focus on the correct isotopes. This position will also be responsible for the planning of one of our focus factories. This position will provide additional analytics to the Supply Chain/Purchasing group to help evolve our supply chain in terms of customer service and cost leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their goals and determine how data can be used to achieve those goals.
  • Design data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models to extract the data the business needs.
  • Perform custom analysis, and assist with the analysis of the data, sharing insights with peers.
  • Acquire data, process, and clean data, integrating and storing data per business requirements.
  • Conduct initial data investigation and exploratory data analysis.
  • Apply data science techniques, such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence.
  • Measure and improve results, present results to stakeholders, adjusting as needed based on feedback.


  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or another quantitative field is preferred.
  • Three or more years of Data manipulation and statistical modeling as a Scientist, Consultant, Architect, DBA, or Engineer.
  • Familiarity with the open-source ecosystems surrounding SQL, SAS, R (CRAN), Python (PyPi), and/or Hadoop
  • Experience interacting with Supply Chain and Production preferred.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills, especially around analytical concepts, and methods.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, life science, biotech or other regulated industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to keep detailed records, attention to detail.
  • Able to analyze, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Working Conditions

  • Willingness to work in a plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Must be willing to wear a variety of personal protective equipment.
  • Willingness to work in a team-based environment.
  • Close attention to detail required.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
  • Must be able to work outside of regular work hours.
  • Responsibilities also include the ability to lift, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and climb stairs with or without accommodation.
  • Must possess good hand-eye coordination.
