What You Will Do At OLX

• Collaborate closely with analytics, data science, and data product management to support our shared Data mission: We harness data to drive intelligent decisions and deliver products our customers love
• Contribute to strategic goals and initiatives by owning specific deliverables supporting product and tech roadmap
• Develop decentralized, domain-specific data pipelines using a diverse range of technologies, fostering autonomy and agility in our data ecosystem
• Enable domain-oriented data teams, ensuring they possess the necessary toolkits and processes to operate as independent data product units within the larger Data Mesh framework
• Promote the use and understanding of our data assets and products across domains, enhancing their autonomy and cross-functional collaboration
• Identify and proactively suggest improvements based on error fixing, debugging, bug fixes, and performance tuning
• Research, recommend, test, and enable new data technologies and techniques to become part of our data ecosystem
• Improve monitoring of our data ecosystem, identify inefficiencies, and seek ways to automate or fine-tune data products to maximize their performance and usability
• Enhance governance frameworks and processes for ensuring the security and compliance of our data ecosystem
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Self-paced, proactive, and results-oriented person with a good sense of ownership and a successful track record, able to deal with ambiguity
• Experience with designing for scale and data growth in terms of storage and performance
• Very strong working knowledge of SQL (writes efficient, easy to read, and crisp SQL code), comfortable with Python, Spark or Scala
• Experience in at least one cloud data technology (AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud)
• Experience working with Redshift, Presto/Trino, Spark, Hive, Athena
• Understanding concepts of data architectures and Data Mesh paradigm
• Experience in designing and implementing domain-specific data pipelines, with a knack for bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders in a fast-changing environment

• AWS data ecosystem
• Data governance applied to cloud/enterprise platforms
• Experience in Data Mesh paradigm implementation
• Collaborative analysis tools (e.g. dbt)
• Streaming processing (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis, Storm, Flink, Spark Streaming)
• JVM-based languages, such as Scala and Java
• Knowledge of S3, SQS, EC2 Auto Scaling, Kinesis, Lambda, EMR, Hive, and Glue
• Relational SQL and NoSQL (Cassandra, DynamoDB, and Solr/Elasticsearch) databases
• Task orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Mage, Luigi)
• Knowledge of Docker and K8s
• Infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, Cloud formation)
• ML engineering solutions
• Experience with analytics, defining metrics, and measuring data quality
